Our Society takes advantage of the rich performing arts environment of Sarasota County, be it the Sarasota Ballet, Sarasota Opera, Venice and Sarasota Orchestras, and many live theatres in the area.  In the fall, the Sarasota Opera presents its annual Sarasota Youth Opera performance.  GCICS makes an annual contribution to the Youth Opera from its scholarship coffers.  Members gather for pre-theater dining at a restaurant within walking distance of Sarasota’s classic and historical Opera House.  Folks dine at tables of 4, 6 or 8, and thus have the opportunity to get to know one another on an “up close and personal basis.”  From there, members attend the Youth Opera performance.  The Society hopes to plan similar events to attend the Youth Ballet as well as local concerts and theatre performances.
