The Gulf Coast Italian Culture Society, Inc. sustains and nurtures in SW Florida the rich classical and popular cultures of Italy in an environment of social conviviality and fellowship. GCICS welcomes as members both permanent and temporary residents of the Sarasota-Manatee area of Southwest Florida. They share Italian ancestry or are attracted to the seductiveness of life and travel in Italy and its multifaceted traditional and modern culture, be it history, literature, music, science, the performing arts, or gastronomy, to name a few. Events are held in private homes, restaurants, and diverse meeting facilities such as public libraries and the Community Foundation of Sarasota County (CFSC).

GCICS partners with CFSC in its fundraising initiatives.  GCICS is also a partner with the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast in Osprey, FL.  In addition, we work with the Sarasota and Manatee County School Districts in awarding scholarships to college-bound high school seniors of full or partial Italian ancestry.   Also, we support the performing arts through our contributions to the Sarasota Youth Opera and the Sarasota Youth Ballet.
